In the municipality of Tecozautla, in Hidalgo's semi-desert, the Xajhá Ecotourism Park holds something you don't expect to find among arid hills and maguey plants: a crystal-clear river fed by an underground spring that runs between rock walls to form swimming pools. The contrast between the dry landscape around it and the intense green of the riverbed is the first thing that surprises visitors.

The route includes a cave where the water surfaces, hanging bridges, zip lines, and campsites along the river. It's a destination made for spending the whole day, surrounded by the sound of water and the vegetation clinging to the canyon rock.

The area is part of the Valle del Mezquital region, Otomí land, where water has always been the most valuable resource. In that sense, Xajhá is proof of how a single spring can sustain an entire ecosystem in the middle of arid territory.

This magnet was made to remind you of those cool waters in the middle of the semi-desert. Scan it whenever you want to come back.
